In a report that is sure to ignite controversy, the Japan Times today reported that TEPCO dumped tons of radioactive water back into the ocean- get this- at the "strong request" of a US cabinet official.
This is almost too much even for us to believe. It is almost incomprehensible that the downstream US government would request the dumping of thousands of tons of radioactive water which are currently flowing in our direction. On the other hand, the US official is not named...perhaps The Bernank thought it would be a great opportunity for new job creation: nuclear clean-up crews, just like all the clean-up crew jobs created by BP last spring.
We invite our readers' thoughts...is this a sign of a desperate blame campaign by TEPCO, or could the US government have actually requested a dumping of toxic nuclear water into the ocean?
