We have dodged a cosmic bullet.
LITERALLY.
A Solar Flare, or Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) occured last night.
It was the highest intensity class known to man (X class).

Today we learned it's full intensity was directed mostly to the North.
Meaning if our body was the Earth and the Sun was a shotgun, the shotgun was aimed over our head.

There is a chance of catching a little "shrapnel" but the main blast, though pointed in our direction, will miss us.
Our technology is growing faster than our ability to comprehend it; much less live without it.
Back in 1859 we had very little technology, but the majority of what we had was crippled by a Solar Flare.
Today, a direct hit could mean MASS power outages that could take YEARS to restore! Above ground wires could be fried and an Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) would render most electrical things we take for granted completely useless.

ATM's? Credit cards? Gold and Silver would not be bad to have handy.
Owning and using "old fashioned," hand operated, appliances and tools to make food, travel short distances or maintain your property and purchase goods will help lower your energy bills, increase your savings and even help to build your muscle tone!
