Taco Bell has launched a promotional contest where the winners are allowed to choose whether they receive the prize in federal reserve debt notes (with the cash prize depending on the spot price of gold) or in solid gold US Eagles!
Think this doesn't demonstrate a MASSIVE PARADIGM SHIFT!?!
Even 2-3 years ago, it would be completely inconceivable for a major US fast food chain to offer gold as an alternative contest prize to federal reserve notes.
While this may be seen by many as merely a novel alternative concept designed to gain attention (which it will) Taco Bell is clearly riding the forefront of the sheople's awakening to gold and silver.
We are interested in your thoughts as well in regards to what/if any impact this campaign will make on the sheople's interest and awareness in gold and silver.

Look for the 9-digit product code below the “guaranteed fresh” statement on the front of the DORITOS® bag (each a “Game Code”). Once you have obtained a Game Code, use your mobile phone to text your Game Code (exactly as it appears on the front of the DORITOS® bag) to shortcode CHIPS (24477) to play for a chance to win a prize (a “Play”). You will receive a reply text message indicating whether or not you have won a prize (subject to verification). Participants must have a mobile phone with text messaging capabilities to play by text message and may incur a standard text message charge from their wireless service provider for each message sent and received. Check with your wireless service provider for details on these and any other applicable charges. If you play by text, you will receive Game-related text messages from the Sponsor. Participants are solely responsible for any such wireless charges. Not all wireless carriers participate. (b) TOLL-FREE CALL: To play without making a purchase or sending a text message, call toll-free 1-800-352-1335, during the Game Period, and follow the automated instructions to play for a chance to win a prize (also a “Play”). Callers will be required to provide their phone number, including their area code, and date of birth (as two digits for month, two digits for day, and four digits for year) to verify eligibility. At the completion of your Play, you will hear a voice message indicating whether or not you have won a prize (subject to verification). Randomly selected times, during the Game Period, will be chosen by the independent judging organization, and the first participant who completes a Play in accordance with these Official Rules (whose Play is properly received and recorded by administrator's computer(s) on or immediately after a randomly-selected time during the Game Period) will win a prize (subject to verification). First Prizes (1,029 total; 21 per Day): Winner receives $190.00 worth of gold coins. ARV: $190.00 each. Prize value is based on $1,661.00 per ounce gold value as of August 2, 2011. Gold value fluctuates. Winner may opt to receive a check for ARV of the prize in lieu of the gold coins. Winner must accept prize as stated by Sponsor or prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible Plays received and the order in which they are received. Any difference between stated value and actual value will not be awarded.
