An evangelical fringe group (cult?) led by Harrold Camping has been going around publicizing their beliefs that God's final judgement will begin this Saturday, May 21st. Apparently accoriding to Camping, the tribulation has been going on for the past 23 years, and the final judgement will begin May 21st. (Apparently The Doc completely missed the antichrist here the past 23 years!)
Like all "the world will end on this date" cults, these followers are stating that there is 100% probability that the world will end, based on an obscure interpretation of a statement given to Noah thousands of years ago.
The problem with these cult leaders is that their followers have literally given up everything based on the assurance that the end is imminent. All of these followers have quit their jobs, many have sold their houses, and they are traveling the world warning of God's imminent judgement. While their passion is perhaps commendable, think about where these people will be at once this weekend comes and goes, and they suddenly find themselves disillusioned, jobless, and in some cases, homeless!
The Doc has actually had these people visit his house personally with these prophesies of doom in the past week (and no, The Doc doesn't yet have guard houses or a private gate entrance set up in front of his house to keep out the riff-raff- perhaps after judgement day comes and goes and silver reaches its bull market high in the next 5 years he can get some proper security in place!?)
