No official word on whether the Rothschilds' new metals exchange the HKMEx (through the En+ Group) will be part of the merger.
Consolidation of power is the name of the game.
The Rothschild family plans to merge its French and U.K. banks into one company to tighten control over the assets before an eventual succession of the group’s chief, David de Rothschild.
Rothschild & Cie Banque, the company that holds the French assets of the family such as the eponymous Paris-based mergers and acquisitions bank, and Rothschilds Continuation Holdings AG, which holds assets including London-based bank N.M. Rothschild & Sons Ltd., will be combined under French-traded Paris Orleans et Cie. SA, it said in an e-mailed statement last night. Paris Orleans will change its legal structure to a limited partnership to give the family control over the long term, it said.
“This will enable us to address the requirements of a globalized and competitive world while securing control of the family over the group,” David de Rothschild, 69, who oversees the whole firm, said in the statement.
The decision is part of a unification process between the two branches of the family that started when David de Rothschild took managerial control of the U.K. side of the bank after his cousin Evelyn de Rothschild retired in 2004. While David is the first French national to run the English half, the ownership of the investment bank has remained split between the two families. The plan simplifies the ownership of the banking operations worldwide and will help integrate the teams further.

If these people are what some readers say they are, then maybe it would be wise to emulate this clan of ultra rich survivors.
If you distain something, ask yourself why you hate it. Do they have something you don't, such as power or wealth. So be it. You are not going to change them. They must be doing something correctly despite what you think of them. Change yourself.
Try doing something that helps yourself by modeling that action on the successes they have enjoyed for centuries. Don't become like them, simply use the tools they have developed so you can get a leg up in the world
One thing is to acquire precious metals. Another thing is to acquire productive resources like land and businesses that enhance your personal well being and chances for survival and the ability to thrive.
Man is free to do what he will with the world. Where are his non-human enemies? There are none who threaten our dominance.
I am sure then that hating bankers is a waste of time though they have created hardship. They are inevitable. The reason why things are, must go beyond them to the nature of ourselves. It follows there can only be fleeting good times. The good times are not stable because of the unchangeable backdrop of our human nature. There will never be a stable free and fair market. There will never be a stable state. There will only be,"all God's children in the wind"....borrowed that from Neil Young. We will all die but our attitude to life is all ours if we choose. Despite the imperfect material world there is for the vast majority, always a joy somewhere near at hand.
